Jeremy from GoodAsYou, who apparently has a stomach of steel, attended a rally against marriage equality yesterday in the Bronx, co-sponsored by Democratic State Senator Ruben Diaz and the National Organization for Marriage. From the videos he compiled, it seems the day was filled with shouting of scriptural passages and condemnations of gay people hoping for civil marriage rights. Pastor Ariel Torres Ortega, for example, said that God believes "those who practice such things are worthy of death." The senator's wife Leslie Diaz swore up and down that she was not homophobic from the dais. "This is not about hate, this is about love," she repeated twice. "The gay community will have you believe that this is about hatred and this is about homophobia, and absolutely not." Moments later she described homosexual behavior as "an abomination."

Another pastor, Wanda Rolon, seemed to refer to newly-out pop singer Ricky Martin as "hell's ambassador." Say what you will about these anti-gay factions — they certainly do have a sense of camp.
