Carmelo is Proud of His Puertorican Heritage
Anthony J. Causi
CARMELO ANTHONY:Melo’s ink includes the
Puerto Rican flag, a nod to his heritage, a bulldog, a flaming
basketball, the phrases “When the grass is cut the snakes will show,”
“Who can I trust,” “Loyalty, Honesty, Blessed and Delivered,” and “No
Struggle No Progress.” The “WB” — done in the style of the
Warner Brothers
logo — on his left shoulder stands for West Baltimore, where the Red
Hook-born Knicks star grew up — and does not mean “no snitchin warn a
brotha,” as some have speculated, Harris said.
