De Blasio Cites Drop in Crime Since Taking Office

Crime in New York City has fallen 2 percent in the first 10 weeks of this year, compared with the same period in 2013, according to Mayor Bill de Blasio and the police commissioner.

As Homeless Numbers Rise, Advocates Press de Blasio

A record 53,615 people slept in shelters in January, according to the Coalition for the Homeless, which is hopeful de Blasio will reverse a trend of rising homelessness it blames on his predecessor.
