The New York Times

Thomas Kaplan notes: “In the aftermath of New York’s legalization of same-sex marriage this summer, gay men and lesbians lionized Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo, showering him with gratitude, praise and awards. Now, they are rewarding him with something more tangible: campaign cash.”

Kaplan also writes that state lawmakers may gather for a special legislative session later this month to balance the budget.

Columnist Jim Dwyer looks at the corruption trial of City Councilman Larry Seabrook.

Colin Moynihan writes about the closing arguments made in the Seabrook case.

Mosi Secret reports: “The chief of staff to William F. Boyland Jr., an assemblyman arrested this week on charges of soliciting and accepting thousands of dollars in bribes from undercover federal agents posing as eager businessmen, was arrested on Thursday in connection with the alleged scheme.”

Andy Newman notes: “Adolfo Carrión Jr., the former Bronx borough president and White House official, who is now a federal housing official and is a potential candidate for city comptroller, has been fined $10,000 by the city’s Conflicts of Interest Board for using an architect on a personal renovation project who was also involved in a large housing development that required his approval.”
