Divine ratings

Do you approve of God's job performance when it comes to maintaining the universe?

Looks like President Obama isn't the only one who has to worry about approval ratings.

A new poll shows that little more than half of Americans say they approve of God's job performance, per Public Policy Polling, a Democratic firm based in North Carolina.

Only 52% of voters said they were pleased with how God seemed to be handling the universe when asked the question, "If God exists, do you approve or disapprove of its performance?"

Many didn't seemed not to want to make the Almighty angry -- 40% were "unsure."

Of those who voted, 9% said they didn't approve. Younger voters, ages 18 to 29, were more likely to disapprove of God's works.

Voters were asked to rate God's performance when it came to issues like creating the universe, handling the animal kingdom and controlling natural disasters.

Public Policy Polling used automated telephone interviews from July 15 to July 17 to survey 928 American voters ranging from liberal to conservative on the political spectrum.

The omnipresent deity fared better than some of those in Congress, with House Speaker John Boehner scoring a 33% approval rating in the same survey.

Rupert Murdoch ranked the worst, receiving a 12% approval rating.

Although Obama wasn't included in the survey, a poll by Real Clear Politics shows the President's job approval ratings with voters come in short of heavenly at 44%, the Atlantic Wire reported.
