A Hungarian is implicated in the disappearance of a tourist

The detainee had contact with the Israeli Dana Rishpy

CANCUN - A drug dealer of Hungarian origin was arrested by agents of the AFI as allegedly responsible for the demise of the Israeli tourist Dana Rishpy, who disappeared in March 2007 in Tulum.

Although officially there has been no information on how and where he was arrested, Zsolt Fejer was transferred yesterday to Cancun from Mexico City, on board a plane of the RMP.

The aircraft landed at 17:22 hours at the airport in Cancun. From there, the Hungarian was transferred to the facilities of the RMP, on Lopez Portillo avenue.

Officially, the state authorities had closed the case, concluding that the tourist travelled to Central America.

However, the initial inquiries indicated that the Zsolt Fejer, a drug dealer operating in Quintana Roo, socialized with Dana at a party that was held at the Hotel Mezzanine in Tulum.

A few months ago Fejer had reported that at that encounter he sold ecstasy capsules to an American by the name of Matthew Ryan Walshin "Matthew" or "Mati," who was identified as the prime suspect in the case. He was reportedly the last person who saw Dana alive. Walshin was the principal suspect in the case.

While officially the Israeli tourist remains as missing, it is not ruled out that she was killed and her body hidden somewhere on the Riviera Maya, where she vacationed.

On May 25, 2007 Zsolt Fejer told the police that on Friday, March 30 of that year he attended the festival at Mezzanine beach and at about one o'clock in the morning Matthew Walshin and eight more people asked him for a ride to Hope beach.

He agreed to take them. He confirmed that there were many people but he did remember "Matthew" and a girl with long hair . He claims to remember nothing else."

Justice moves slowly in Mexico. The one year anniversary of Dana's disappearance is fast approaching. This latest development is a bright light in a dark saga. However, there were others at the Mezzanine party on the night of March 30, 2007. It remains to be seen whether they will implicate Zsolt or will Zsolt implicate them. Stay tuned.
